I rarely go into the HD big box for tools…in fact never for tools. But last night, my local tool guy did not have the sanding disk I need for my little 4 1/2″ grinder. I have some nasty old paint to take off and the flop over sanding pads work really well. So I went to HD and found just what I needed. While heading out, I thought I might look at some of the tools that I have seen people talk about in this forum. what I have not seen anyone mention was the Rigid trimmer. It seemed to have a very easy to use height adjustment mechanism. I use the DeWalt to hang doors and leave it at the same height so I don’t have to mess around with it.
does anyone have any experience with this trimmer? who makes it? Just wondering if it has a track record yet.

We bought one a couple weeks ago. The adjustable height is very good. Soft start, easy to use, fence is included. I like it and it does seem to be made well, I just wonder if I will be saying good things about it a year from now.
what will you use it for, primarily?
I have had one since a week of their release...
Use it a lot for miles of roundovers, pretty much all of my small profiles, and made a few fluted colums with it...
It works great. I love it, smooth, quiet, well balanced, powerful.
great input. thanks.
We use the trim routers for small profiles, mortising for hinges or lock stikes, very light trimming to a pattern.....light stuff.
thanks. I'm using my Dewalt for hinge mortising...I hang a fair amount of doors. The adjustment stinks on the Dewalt. This one looks to be much easier to adjust. thanks.
I agree, can't beat the little ones for small stuff. Hard to go back to a PC 690 for my 3/16 roundovers now.
Nick,
Plus they can be picked up for about a hundred bucks so you can get 2-3 to keep the bits you use regularly in them so you don't have to mess around changing bits.
Don't think that thought hasnt occured to me.
The last guy I worked for had 13 routers.
