Does anyone have any counsel to offer regarding interior door, rim lock installation?
Is mounting the “body” on a block, the face of which lies in the same plane at the trim surround of a conventionally hung door, a good “work around” to accommodate a “keeper” that is to be surface-mounted on the trim surround? This arrangement might prohibit key function from the outside if the key isn’t long enough to reach through the door and block. (The proposed several-hundred-dollar lock is not in hand.)
Any tips on (or warnings about) hanging the (new) door so that the door face and trim face are in the same plane is welcome. Thanks.
