I am installing a porcelain tile floor, and need to rip some of the 36″ tiles. What would be the best way to do this? Diamond blade on a table saw? I am concerned my wet saw will not support the tile adequately, causing it to crack. I had wondered about building a 36″ long plywood support for the tile.

Porcelain tile is pretty tough, but a wet saw is best to cut it. I wouldn't use a tablesaw. Try it on the wetsaw, or make some sort of table if you can't risk breakage.
