I’ve been contacted by Rockford Steel Building Systems. They are looking for someone to be a dealer in this area.
I am reminded of the Groucho Marx line about not wanting to associate with a club that would have me for a member.
Honestly, I can’t imagine they would want me or that I would want them, but it is a strange world, so…..
Anyone know anything about this outfit??
Thanks.

I have also had Rockford salespeople call me. As a matter of fact they sort of ticked me off. They contact my local lumberyard asking for the names of reputable contractors. They left a message on my answering machine posing as a homeowner wanting some "work done." I am thinking very good, possible work for me to do. Little did I know that I was returning a call (long distance no less) to a salesperson at Rockford.
Sure don't know about their buildings, but the sales department made me not want to even find out.
Rich, I met with a friend of Frank's that wanted to involve us in a steel building venture. I watched an hour long sales pitch. The guy was all fired up to send in a coupla thousand dollars but I didn't see any value. Steel building competition is fierce and it's not something that I could see myself getting into.

Warning! Be cautious when taking any framing advice from me. Although I have a lifetime of framing experience, all of it is considered bottom of the barrel by Gabe. I am not to be counted amongst the worst of the worst. If you want real framing information...don't listen to me..just ask Gabe!
Rockford is one of the top steel building manufactures in the country. I have been erecting for Rockord for 12 years. It started
off as a fill in in between the homes i was doing and has become my main focus. Its April and I have a 6 building back log.
not a bad start during a recession. If your getting into steel buildings than you can't go wrong with Rockford Steel.
