Romex at an excellent price
Hi,
Thought I would share this we everyone as a thank you for help rendered in the past. Hope you can take advantage of it. I was in Fred Meyer (a Western grocery/department store combo) this past weekend and was able to buy rolls of 12/2 NM with ground for about $55 a 250′ roll and 12/2 UF with ground for about $59 a 250′ roll. My guess is that their pricing hasn’t kept pace with the rapid rise in romex prices. Hope others can take advantage of this great price.
All the best,
John

Thanks for the info.
We do not have a Fred Meyers here, but 12/2 wire in 250' rolls run about $35 - $37 at the local getting place.

Have you checked lately? It's gone astronomical!
It jumped from $55 to $102 at SF Bay Area Home Depots.
WOW, I have not bought it in a while ( read 3 months ) but back then I think I was paying about 35 a roll at a local SF house.

Same here in central NC but it has come back down to $95. Six weeks ago it was $72.Steve.
jhonmocha,
I paid 70 1 month ago ,and now it is at 99.99 , down from 110. No competition up here! Maybe we can work out a way to ship it here at that price! We could make a killing!!

I was in the local electrical supply weds, romex 12/2 wg, 250' @ $94 - and they moved it from near the door to the opposite end of the counter... (Indiana)
$25 for a 10' piece of 1/2 Type L Copper tubing.
Copper prices peaked, and have fallen since, but the retail price is a lagging indicator due to supply lines. Also, manufacturers and distributors are afraid to be caught holding inventory acquired at peak prices, which can compound the price problem by adding a supply chain problem.
I was going to use copper for a plumbing project, but now I am leaning towards PEX.
When copper prices started to ramp steeply, my local home centers were completely cleaned out of stock by big contractors hedging their bets. Talk about a great way to lose money on a fixed bid.
