Might buy you a year or two if well done .
I agree with Walter.
I've used similar and planned on getting a couple of years and have gotten five. These products need to be treated like paint. If what you're painting is rotten, then the cow's already out of the barn.

Buttering him up eh?

Yea, the topic is coatings, right?

I have used Conklin's Rapid Roof. I have only uded it on new plywood surfaces.
It is a latex based product. The base coat is rolle out and a fine mesh (woven) is embedded in the primer and then you roll a second coat of primer.
Then a white top coat.
I have 2 roofs out there that are about 15 years old. The roof is supposed to be reocoated in 10 years.

That is an actual roof product, to be applied to a sound substrate. it's not really a coating, as I understand coatings.

They also sell it as a coating - has a different base coat, IIRC. With all the neccessary prep and chance of a wash off before it dries, it winds up not being much of a bargin. I've used it on new construction and saving old work as well with limited success in both areas. I don't use it anymore.http://www.quittintime.com/ View Image

Yes I know.
I would not apply it to existing rolled roofing.
I thought seeyou was preparing him for tearing off the old roofing and i thought maybe he was looking for a roll on product because of the pentrations and the ease of application.
I applied Rapid Roof. Now they have Rapid Roof III and a dozen different coatings for different applications. I think it is used alot over spayed on foam roofs. They have a specific product line for that.

"I think it is used alot over spayed on foam roofs."It would make sense there.

My opinion on roof coatings is that they only serve to make a good roof last longer by protecting them from UV. I have never seen one that fixed leak problems, and they generally just make the actual repair or replacement harder and more expensive.
So a lot of the swear comes down to what condition yours is in and why you want to do this.
