Getting ready to re-roof. I have multiple valleys. They currently have metal in the valleys. Should I keep the metal valleys or would it be better to have rubber adhesive valleys wuth the adjoining shingles weaved between the adjacent roof surfaces?
Thanks

Wars have been fought over this issue. Weaving is probably the most attractive, but it only works well if the adjoining surfaces have similar pitch.
Personally I like metal in the valleys, then ice & water, and a cut valley.
depends...
Some of the heavier laminated shingles can't be woven. Still a woven valley is my last choice.
My personal preference is an open valley. Membrane over the roof sheathing, then the metal "W" valley over the membrane, and the shingles cut on each side.
Second would be a cut valley. Membrane over the sheathing, then the smaller roof shingles run through the valley and onto the main roof. The main roof shingles get cut at the valley.
Good to see you around again Mongo.
Can you buy ...
Can you buy custom lenghts of W valley flashing or do you just get teh 10 foot lengths and over lap them?
Metal is fine, but I generally prefer a cut or California valley over a generous underlay of adhesive membrane.
