I'm shopping around for one right now as well and will be interested in what comes up here. The rental yards around here all carry Bosch roto hammers and I'm leaning in that direction. I plan on working it pretty hard so I'm looking at warranty and ease of repair stuff.

For everything? It doesn't exist. You have to decide what you're going to demand of it and what you're willing to spend. Just like most other stuff.
That being said, Bosch makes decent stuff. I'd say the popularity vote around here probably puts more votes there than Mil, certainly more than Dewalt. I've used, hmm, I want to say it was a Hitachi. Seller said boy was that a little gem, I thought it was a little p.o.s.
Breakers are more or less clumped into groups of what they accomplish best. For just the every once in awhile break in hollow block, you don't need much. Gouging channel for conduit, move up. Scaling, move up. If there's a deal at all, it's the rotary breakers that go from hammer drill to mini breaker at the flip of a lever. It you really spend any time at all breaking a slab, you want a jackhammer. I've got a fairly large Hilti combo and even that is just too time consuming if you were trying to take out anything of size. Its made for small breaks and big holes. You can core a 5" hole in a heartbeat; breaking a 5" slab takes a long time. The most I'd actually hammer at with it would be short runs in a bsmt floor for plumbing.

It's all about budget$$$$$$$$
If your looking to do the job without the headaces just plan on 2- a smaller sds and a larger sds max. The cost of the bits add up over time. Check out the pawn shops for great deals on bits and don't pay them what they want, make a offer on them for what you want to pay.
Also a crossover adapter to use the sdsmax to sds bit helps to be able to use all bits in both machines.
I also bet that if I use me as a basis for this statement, that if all the breaktimers lined up all there drills that we could circle the earth.
Interesting that you recommend having both SDS and Max. I started with SDS, and later had to get a Max to do a 2 1/2" diam. hole a couple feet deep. I was thinking I shoulda bought the big one to begin with.

That's why you could use 2 or- or- or . The big one get's heavy for the small stuff. But theres no comparrison when you realy need to go with bigger holes or busting stuff up. It will never fail, if you go with the big one you'll need a small one and vis a versa.
Just like why a guy needs two boats if he fishes. A boat for the river and one for the lake or coast.
