I have a project in mind that would require round clay tiles. Round as in tubular, that is.
I’ve googled and called, but no luck yet finding soft (not glazed) tiles, preferably with no bell ends. (tiles with bell ends were all over the place in the midwest in the 60s and were commonly used for field drain tile)
Twenty years or so ago I saw an outdoor/patio wall (in Arizona) that was built of laid up cylinders of soft tiles. They were laid at approx. a 45* angle with the high end to the outside of the enclosed area (couldn’t be seen through and may help catch a breeze).
The one I saw didn’t incorporate the idea, but I’m thinking in hot weather I could spray a mist on the wall for a sort of evap cooler effect.
I’d like to try it, but don’t really want to have to make my own tiles.
Has anyone seen such a tile for sale any time recently? With or without a street end?
Thanks

How big of a diameter are you talking about? I know round chimney flue tiles are fairly readily available here. They're not soft either, but I've seen them as small as 4" dia.

Today we's learnin' about rawks. They's all kinds of rawks. These [picks up rock] is rawks which you throw. These here [throws rock at Rusty] is rawks that you get hit with. E.Cuyler
I'll try that. Maybe I was asking for the right product by the wrong name.Edited to say I was thinking of 4" tile."Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd."~ Voltaire

Hasbeen,
This company has been making clay pipe, roofing tiles, and architectural terra cotta since the 1870's. If you don't see what you need, they will make it for you.
