I’ve got a new DeWalt DW708 SCMS on the way, and now I’m looking at miter saw stands/work stations. There seem to be two classes out there… too expensive, and “not under MY saw!” 🙂
I’m down to a choice between the Dewalt DW730 and the Rousseau SS2875XL. Both are in the same price range. A lot of my work in in the shop, which makes her Rousseau look interesting… but I’ve never heard a bad comment about the DeWalt work station, other than about its price.
Anyone out there have a Rousseau SS2875XL? Anyone who can compare the two and help with the decision?
Thanks!
D.

Dan, I just purchased the SS2875XL a couple of weeks ago. I also have a Dewalt DW708 and had to make the same decision you are. It came down to how I intended to use the saw. I am pretty much going to be working in my workshop only. I need all my tools on mobile bases. This made my choice easier. Both of them are great stands. If I had to work at a jobsite, I would have chosen the Dewalt stand.
By the way, I was very impressed with the quality of the Rousseau stand. Hope this helps.

*Dan,I have the Dewalt Sliding Miter ontop of the Trojan miter saw stand. My men and I all consider it the best combo on the trailer. Pnumatic tires and easy set up/take down make for for time saving efficiency.I heartily recommend it.Dave
*Bill and Dave, thanks to both of you for your feedback. After thinking through it a few times, I decided to buy the DeWalt. It seems like it will work well in the shop, but still transport easily on the occasions when I need it elsewhere. That, and finding the DeWalt for $249, kinda pushed me over the edge. But, it sounds like the Rousseau or Trojan would have been a great choice, too. Guess I couldn't go wrong on this one, eh? :)Thanks again.D.
