About 10 years ago our porch roof was covered with rubber. It has an internal gutter and there’s about 12 or 15 inches of roof outside of – or beyond – the gutter. The rubber was wrapped down the edge of the roof & bars were screwed on it.
The problem is that the bit of roof beyond the gutter doesn’t slope into it & the rain that hits it runs away from the gutter, dribbling down the crown molding & frieze of the porch, staining them pretty badly.
Does anybody have any suggestions for redesigning this? Should I try to rebuild the edge somehow that it drains back into the gutter, or should I remove the screwed-on bars, install a drip edge & adequately glue the rubber to the drip edge? What kind of glue or adhesive would be best?
Thanks!

Some pictures would help, but it sounds like the built-in/box gutter has been choked with epdm and is not flowing properly. EPDM is a poor choice for box gutter lining. A solderable metal (preferably copper) should be used on the gutter part of this detail.
