Running electrical lines below cold water pipes
Can anyone tell me if there is something in the NEC that states that it incorrect to run electrical wires along a joist below the cold water pipes also running along the same joist. Or is it just good practice to avoid this situation.

Don't recall it ever coming up. Would be wise to avoid, since condensation would tend to drip on the cable -- not really a fatal situation, but could lead to some sort of a problem 30-40 years down the road.
Thanks for your input.
I can't think of a violation there.

No problem or violation.
If you have condensation dripping the last thing I would worry about is NM cable.
I'd worry about rot, mold and mildew.
Exactly!
