client wants a free swinging door through into her kitchen. Put in some double action spring hinges but they squeak from the weight.
Any suggestions. There is no header so any hinges that mount to the top of a door jamb won’t work, (pivot hinges).
Looked around online but could not find any that support a solid door, no header.

Why not use the double spring cafe door hinges. Before you install them, take them apart and coat the springs with berring grease. White lithium would work as well but it is too thin to last.
http://www.hardwaresource.com/Store_ViewProducts.asp?Cat=200 is a pivot hinge which uses gravity to return the door to the closed position -- that is, no squeeky springs. The top pivot is designed to fasten to the side jamb.
Thanks!...
What kind of door is it? How much does it weigh? A bommer hinge will work. You do not need a header, all the weight rests on the bottom.
