Help me flatten out the learning curve. We have have a set on site. Center post is up, treads with preset riser collars are on the post, the upper landing tread is fastened, and nothing seems to be according to the “Easy, isn’t it?” instructions, hmmmm.
Ist clue, center post 10″ too long, 2nd clue, 3 balusters for 14″ wide treads when the instructions state that almost all building codes go with the 4″ sphere rule, they sent 3 balusters for each 16″ tread…yeah, the baluters are 1″ OD.
OK, I got the contractor to order an extra picket for each tread. We’ve got 3/4″ factory cut particleboard to be carpeted treads. Now, about attaching them pickets to the aluminum handrail???Right now, I’m not really interested in conjectures, if you’ve really done a set of these particular stairs, and and can hip me to any tips, please hit me with all you’ve got.
