What’s the best method for sanding the compound but not scuffing up the paper? Sandpaper, screen, sponge,…??? I realize if I were any good I wouldn’t be asking this but such is the life of the DIY’er 🙁
Thanks.

Structural steel and strong connections help a raised floor resist high winds and water.

I hate sanding drywall, but when I have to I prefer a sponge on smallish jobs. 3M's small "block" type sponges work best for me, not those big orange and white ones the big boxes sell that look like something you'd scrub a big pot with.
Best way to not scuff the paper is to not sand it! Not trying to be a smart-guy, but focus on the mud, not the board.
Best way is to mud more..Dont sand, just use a clean trowel and scrape the lumps and bumps off and mud again.
Take your blade and bend it, it will staighten out and you know there will be a slight curve. Using both sides properly will eliminate those line in the mud.
