Hello all,
I am getting geared up to begin a major remodel of our house. I need to get a sawzall and I’m wondering which one to get. I’m pretty sure I want a Milwaukee, just unsure of the model that is best. 10-11 amps is what I’m looking at. just curious which models are the best and most reliable.
Thanks for any advice!

Don't know if you can wait, but, Milwakee is about to change the world of cordless tools. They are coming out with a 28 volt Lithium Ion battery line of tools first of March I believe. I know a sawzall is to be one of the first offerings.

Milwaukee 6521-21......11amps....orbital....1 1/4" stroke....quik lok cord....tool-less blade change...non-racking plastic case.
The cordless sounds interesting, but I recomend a corded tool for primary use.

I agree with Wally.
"The porter cable Tiger paw 11A articulated saw is amazing. Gets into places you wouldn't dream of, and makes regular cuts really easy. About $200. Best I've ever used. "

Get the Hilti. It is by far the best recip saw. It isn't cheap, but you will love it.

Ditto Jaybird's comments. Nice saw ...... far smoother than previous TigerSaw, plenty power.
jaybird is right
I own a lot of Milwaukee tools, I like 'em a lot! and Had one in my hands heading for check out..
stopped by the Hilti rep and did a back to back comparison with the best Milwaukee against the Hilti..
Hands down the Hilti won.. it wasn't even close!
If really leaned on the milwakee I could slow it down and removing the extreme pressure it simply didn't cut as fast.. I used the same blade for each test switching back and forth. I had a friend with me and between the two of us we tried each saw 4 times (same blade everytime) the Hilti sawed 50% faster..
Now you will spend over a $100 bucks more for the Hilti and if money means more to you than your time, go ahead and buy the Milwaukee, it's well made, made in America rugged as a rock and a decent sawzall..
The Milwaukee outsaws the Porter Cable saw.. ( Barely).
Porter Cable Tiger, articulated of course, is the way to go! Bought one and never looked back. I cut out a 1/4" steel double walled fireplace unit the first time I ever used it. Payed for itself right then and there. Also is nice to cut off rusty tailpipes, but that's another story.
My experience with Milwaukee sawzalls is that it makes a good anchor.

Porter Cable Tiger claw is the best, particularly for your own house. The Milwaukees are built like battle tanks but they can't get into many places that the Porter Cable can. You don't need a battle tank to renovate your home, but you will need to get into some tight spots...

I have both the MKE orbital super sawzall and the PC Tiger Claw. Given that I'm remodeling, not just doing demo, I'd go first for the PC. Its ability to bend and rotate the blade gets it into places no other recip can reach. That outweighs all other considerations if your goal is to cut some things without destroying others. OTOH, if all you want is to annihilate everything in your path, Milwaukee or Hilti will do that.
The downside to the PC is that its speed control lacks subtlety. It takes a very delicate touch to get smooth slow operation, which is hard to do with the saw actually cutting something. MKE's speed limiting dial is nicer, but of course that's very minor compared with the articulation of the PC. The PC also seems to vibrate more in my hands, especially when it's all bent and twisted like a pretzel. But it's the only saw on earth with the pretzelization feature. ;-)

i owned alot of milwakee tools over the years ! mostly sawzalls because i make alot of mistakes lol . However i do not dubt that hilti makes very good tools but the milwakee super is a great saw it cuts very fast and has alot of power compared to my old milwakee it seems like a chainsaw
