I messed up. I made a vanity and upper cabinet that sits on the vanity top. Some how I mis-measured the height of the cabinet that sits on the vanity. It was suppose to go all the way to the ceiling. I was off a little. About 8″. I just discovered this tonight. Has anyone ever “stretched” a cabinet? The cabinet is faceframe, inset doors/drawers. There’s a shallow drawer on the bottom, the main compartment (single door) and then a double door compartment on top. Is there anyway to cut the cabinet in half , and add 8″ ?

Will a two piece crown at the top make up the 8" difference?
Decorative soffit from the same wood. Leave a little gap to fit it in, and run crown or what ever corner treatment you have to match.
add legs at the bas to create a niche in under it or simply box a soffit at top above the crown. Pictures would help me see more of what you have now to know what is most appropriate.
