I have worked as a trim carpenter for a few years and have always used truss head cabinet screws for securing cabinets to the wall. Recently when bidding jobs upon inspection of others work I see alot of drywall screws (no washers) holding up the wall cabinets. These are 42″ cabinets with no wall blocking so in some places there may be a 30″ wide cabinet only hitting 1 stud. They are also cheap cabinets in an expensive house.
Has anyone had any problems with this?
It doesn’t sound very secure to me.
