Just a finished a natural slate path/patio set in thinset on concrete. Looks awesome. Looks even better when it’s wet. Boss man’s concerned that sealing it to give it that wet look 24/7 will cause the slate to become slippery when it rains. Says he’s had it happen and all he could do was wish the sealer would fail sooner so the stone would’nt be so slick.
Any products that can do this? Or is it a case of the “wetter the look, the slicker the wet stone”? And what can I expect as far as a maintenance schedule? We’re in NorCal/(Africa) – dry/hot season and the monsoon season. Thanks.

Greetings Ryan,
Don't know why your post came on so late after posting but this post, in response to your question, will bump the thread through the 'recent discussion' listing again.
Perhaps it will catch someone's attention that can help you with advice.

ryan,
Here's what I have used on stone, concrete and masonry.
It's called White Mountain wet look lacquer. You can mix "Rhino Grip" with it and it gives a descent wet look with some grit for traction.
It has lasted on my stamped concete four years with no trouble. I'm in Nevada City (Nor-Cal).
I get all I need at a masonry suppy house. Spec-West is in Sac and Loomis. They can hook you up with what you need.
Gonna rain Monday so that looks like a feild trip day for you and the boss man.
