Anyone know a cheap, easy way to seal gypcrete? Probably a non-film type of sealer. This is for some storage rooms in an apartment building. The dusty gypcrete tracks into other parts of the building. These storage rooms will not get any finished flooring.

Mine have cheap low profile carpet glued down. Very little traffic so it will last.
Was the gypcrete sealed?
I don't think so. I did not build the building but I have replaced carpet and it does not appear to have been sealed.
I had a very dusty basement floor (badly placed oncrete) on which i accidentally spilled a gallon of linseed oil. The oiled part wasn't dusty and it didn't track around once it dried. Not sure if that's cheap enough for you, though - it didn't go very far.

I'd go for a coat of water based poly, but if cost is really an issue how about oil based poly, perhaps cut 25% with mineral spirits to soak in better.
Back in Fort Collins, CO we had a great hazardous waste recycling program at the landfill and they had a little building full of nothing but half used containers of paint, deck sealer, poly, and all sorts of other things. I've often suggested to those on a tight budget to pick up all the polyurethane they can get since it is freeze thaw stable and easy to tell if it's contaminated. I still have some quarts for my personal use. Still, a galon new is only $30.

Water based poly... How expensive is that stuff? Have you tried that over gypcrete? I wonder if I could cut it way down, brush the edges and then just apply it to the field with a garden sprayer? This is for some shed floors....
A gallon is something like $50. Oil based poly is less expensive, but smells a lot less.
