Home owner has a late 1800’s house in Denver, CO. Basement is made out of brick of unknown thickness. The brick is deteriorating and creating a fine dust which settles to the concrete floor. It also appears that 2 locations have a mold problem.
The homeowner would like to finish the basement out. They would also like for the brick to be exposed. Does anyone know how to stop the deterioration of the brick faces?
The mold issue will be remediated by stopping water intrusion from the grade level.
