I saw big orange (HD) has a Senco finish, brad, and stapler combo for 199.00. Was wondering if anyone had experiace with it, etc. Senco always seems to have a good name here on BT for the most part. I am looking to use for small occasional weekend stuff.
Thanks

I think those guns that they sell at HD are the homeowner version not the pro/contractor style.
If your just using it occasionally then they will be more then fine.

What makes you think that, Doug?
I went to Senco's USA site, and focused just on their nailers that shoot 18 gage nails. There are more than one, simply because the nail offering in 18 gage is so wide (length, slight head versus regular) and because one is a combo that shoots smallcrown staples, too.
I did not see any models that looked as if they could be directed just at DIY light duty work, versus contractor work.
In 16 and 15 gage guns, Senco has only one model for each, with no mention of duty spec.
Back to the 18 gage offerings, if you want a gun that will do 2-inchers, you can get the FinishPro 18 or the FinishPro 25XP. The 18 will handle nails at 5/8 - 2. The 25XP will go 5/8 to 2-1/8, plus handle slight headeds 5/8 to 1. Which of those two do you think is the HO version?
I think the bottom line is Senco guns aren't the tanks they used to be

The easy way for me to tell if the guns are DIY'ers is if they need oil.
The contractor grade is the oil-less guns. Ever since Senco quite making the Accuset that were predominatly made for HO'ers, I have a hard time keeping up with their number system.

I bought the same kit almost two years ago for $160. I've used them to trim 12-15 houses and built many cabinets with no problems.
Two of my guys have the same kit, no problems, one for a little over a year, the other 8 months or so
I just saw them here in Chicago for 20% off the two hundred. I might have bought them, except I already had last year. They aren't the best guns in the world, but have held up very well with quite a bit of use from the two guys on my crew. I actually like the two 18 ga. guns better. I have a bit of trouble occasionally with the 15 ga. not setting all the way. Other than that, I have been quite happy with the purchase. They have easily made their money back for me.
Peace,
Casey
I've used 2 of the guns for more than DIY. They are fine, I wish I had bought them for that price. I spent about that much on just my 15g (different model).
I just looked at that tonight for the first time. The main shortcoming of the set is the max nail lengths the guns will shoot. Look closely if you need long fasteners.
