Sharkbites, copper glue, anyone try em?

We have a job where I either need a non sweat solution or bite the bullet and pay a plumber for what would otherwise be a piece of cake… curious if anyone has tried any of the new nonsweat joints?
TIA

Keeping HVAC systems within the conditioned enclosure can be tough without a basement; one option is to use plenum trusses for the roof, which offer a space for equipment and ductwork.

Shark Bite fittings work great.
Wow, that was fast ;) Thanks... one vote for Shark Bite.PaulB
I would never use that glue designed for copper pipes. If you have a problem, you gotta heat it up with a torch, so might as well solder it.
Shark Bites are certified for use behind walls and they are both removable and reusable. The joint does not have to be dry for it to work. The fittings work with PEX, copper and CPVC- and you can join one type of material to the other in the same fitting.
Unlike the RIDGID ProPress system, no special tooling is required to make the connections.
For those that can't solder or those situations where you can't, the Shark Bites are a job saver.
Tons of time saved on the endless drip water heater replacement :)
The only thing that sucks is they are made in Taiwan.
Sounds like just the ticket... I need to place an elbow in a location where torch access is going to be a huge PIA. Thanks!PaulB
Someone gave me a squezze bottle of the red Copper glue. What a mess. The stuff worked but it ran down you arms, your hands, the pipe. The only good thing about it was that it smelled like strawberries. Shark-bites are the way to go when you have a tight working area.
Super. Effin. Awesome.
Except on the connection between valve and tub spout - use threaded brass there instead. Due to the PEX internal support it is undersized for that connection... unless you use 3/4".

When I was looking, I couldn't find any of the sharkbite brand. Wound up using some valved models from Watts (same idea but in plastic) that are capping off some lines until I can get back to them.
Um, a year plus later, there hasn't been so much as a hint of a drip. Simple as pie to use. Just make sure you push them on all the way to get full engagement.
Best,
Steve
love sharkbites... used one once where i could not turn the water off... 3/4" main... full flow... cut it and had a sharkbite on the back side of a valve... pushed it on with the valve open... then closed the valve..... oh yeah this was in winter in the dark one small..ery small flashlight being held by someone across the room... they didn't want to get wet...
fun... but man i'd have paid 5x for one fitting if i had to
p
wow... I was worried about them being too fussy on the install but if you can whack one on with the flow going. The destructions say something about setting the cut end within .005", but I guess they ain't allllllllllllll that fussy ;)
Thanks all...PaulB
