I was using Sherwin Williams “Exterior Accents” latex paint for trim work. A dark colour.
It went on thick and left deep 3D brushstrokes. I don’t like vivid brush strokes after I’ve scraped, sanded and oil primed the surface. The end result looks like I bought the cheapest K-Mart paint and had a 14 year old do it.
Anyone recognize this problem? Know if their “Super-Paint” line might be less of a gel type paint?
I thought I had bought their Duration exterior paint, but the name on the can is “Exterior Accents.” It’s thick right our of the can.

Wouldnt have made any difference whose paint it was unless theres a new paint out that applies like sheet rock mud and lays out flat that I havent seen.
It needed to be thinned with at least flotrol and probably some water too.

I hadn't thought of thinning it. I am getting dense as the years go on. Flotrol. Thanks.

Were talkin it over .
May be related....... I just used some SW interior paint...very dark colors. We had to break away from their ProMar (Professional Market) Series and use "Accents". The manager told us it was the only way to achieve the dark colors.
Dark colors are getting very popular in Texas now days, especially inside. This is a big change from the light colors so popular in recent years. My advise, charge more money, dark colors can be more difficult.
That explains why I was sold the "Accents" paint line even though I had gone in there specifying something else.
My advise, charge more money
This is my own house lol.
