I have just built a new shop and would like to install hotwater heat. I had in mind to use the old fashioned cast iron rads and heat the water with a hot water tank. what I need is some help on how to make it all work.
How do I calculate the size of pump?
How do I hook up the thermostat?
Do I need an expansion tank?
etc.etc.etc. Thanks a million, bob

Bob, What you are proposing is not safe and it's obvious from you questions you need professional help installing a real heating system.
Try these guys:
http://www.radiantec.com/
They address the use of hw radiant floor systems using standard waterheaters (among other solutions).
Tell them that you want to use radiators. Typically, the water temp in floor systems is lower than radiator systems, but for a shop, you still may be able to make something work.
