Hi Everyone,
I’m shopping for a 2-man gas powered earth auger and could use a
little advice. I’m looking for a model that costs less than $700.00,
is easy to start, operate and maintain, and easy enough to transport
in the back of a pickup truck. Northern Tool Co. has one that seems
to fit the bill for $479.99. It has a Tecumseh engine on it though,
and I’ve never heard anything good about a Tecumseh. I’ve looked
unsuccessfully for a similar model with a Briggs or Honda engine.
By the way, this tool will see regular use digging holes for tempor-
ary power poles (I’m an electrician) and the occasional run of fence
post holes for friends and relatives. Does anybody have any experi-
ence with these tools and a recommendation of a reliable model? Thanks.
