Presloped a shower base yeaterday & installed the liner today. This is about7′ X 3.5′. This is about the 5th or 6th liner I’ve installed, so I’m fairly comfortable with them. I didn’t have any dam corners for the arrowed areas, and the Oatey ones wouldn’t have been tall enough.
Regardless, I have a leak. Most likely in the noted areas. Probably would have been a good time to try a Kerdi application. I don’t want to just goober this up with something that will fail in the future, but I’d rather not pull the liner and make a new one.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm just guessing here on the basis of zero experience....
The reason you do the test is so if it leaks you don't have to rip it all out and redo it after the tile is in.
So it makes sense to me that you still have to take out what is there and redo it.
I'm sure someone who actually knows the answer will be along to give you an answer.

I have NO clue what your drawing is depicting, or how it relates to what you are doing.
Because the liner leaks does not mean you need to tear it out, but you do need to empty it, dry it out well, fill it and then determine WHERE it is leaking and properly detail that area to prevent it from leaking again.
Sorry I could not be of more help. I don't know what you are looking for.

The drawing is a top view of the wall. Arrows point to the leak areas. Due to the short wall section jutting into the shower it wasn't possible to do a common folded corner there. Thats where the leak is. The small preformed dam corners aren't of sufficient size to seal the two outside corners of that stubby wall.

I can't see what you are building from here. I would not have left that jog in the wall, I would have framed it flat with wasted space behind it. It creates a problem from all angles.
Now you'll have to tile it too.
Maybe I missed something.

If I understand your drawing correctly, it is a plan view of a 36 inch square shower. You need to find out where the leak is in order to fix it. If you cannot, you have to tear out and start over. You don't want to create a double vapor barrior by adding a surface VB now.So, start over. Kerdi works great.
Kirk,
You are responding to someone that is NOT the original poster; the person that started the thread.
AND, you need to read a little closer and pay a little better attention to what has been written.
My apologies in advance.

I'm lost too dude ...
does he really mean he didn't close off that area with a straight wall?

Eric, (Sorry Jeff)Sorry, the pecadillos of the posting system on this forum differ from what I am accustomed. I was meaning to post to Mike.Thank you for posting that drawing in a bigger manner. It is much clearer now. Of times the words and the pictures don't say the same thing and I drew the wrong conclusion. My bad. Mea Culpa. The recommendations I made are the same, find the leak or re do the whole thing.Kirk

Get a bucket of redguard , Follow the directions.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Suggestions: 1. Have the 3.5" slot in the wall framed flat, then proceed. 2. Next time don't accept a tile job with unworkable framing.

I vote rip it out and do it again. if you have access from below it might be worthwhile to open some sheetrock and check the drain connection first, or maybe just re-do the drain connection and test again
