The new house had a semi-circular shower built out from the rear wall of the bathroom. The walls are glass block. The dimension is 6′ diameter.
When the slab was poured the crew scooped out around the PVC pipe to allow water to slope toward it. (about 1/4 inch per foot)
I want to install an Oatley 131 series drain – WHICH DOESN’T REQUIRE A MEMBRANE and then tile the shower and the bathroom floor in 1″ tiles.
Now is everybody goin to jump on me for not using a membrane?
If I was to use a membrane how would it start and stop in a big area like this?
Will I end up with a hump in the floor where the membrane stops?

I think my only question would be whether or not they put plastic under the cement.
Family.....They're always there when they need you.
You could use a surface applied membrane, either liquid or sheet. Without it your concrete will continue to absorb moisture from the shower and may very well smell lousy.
i like that idea - can u suggest one?
Kerdi. Not sure about using it with the drain you mentioned, tho'.
