Building shower seats at 45 degrees to corners. Seat structure extends to subfloor and are covered with chloralloy pan membrane which extends down to the pan. the seat is surrounded with 2x6in the wall to reinforce the curb for the membrane. The seat itself is 3/4″ advantec with 1/2″ hardie board. Membrane covers this, then I was planning on screwing another hardieboard to this assembly for thinset and tile. Is this ok or is there a better way?

You might consider a one piece seat top in Corian or similar solid surface material in a color to match or copliment your tile.
Problem still exists with fixing whatever surface to the membrane unless I pour a 2" thick mudbed on top of membrane and tile over that. 'Natcherly I thought of that a little late in the project.....
If I read this right, all the wood is outside the wet area. So you should be ok. One piece top would be nicer.
We put 18"- 24" radius solid stone 1 1/4" thick let into the corners all the time with no other support.
Sure makes thing a whole lot simpler than what you are dealing with.
Other than penetrating your membrane (bad) I dint see another way of attaching lathe or cbu.

I've done a few seats and benches for showers. Teak with some SS angle iron. (well sealed to the tile with 3M 4200)Never a problem to date.
I just might have some granite left over from a kitchen remodel.... great idea! Thanks!
You might consider the Better Bench.
