I’m doing a bath remodel and the new shower is tile. The sub has installed the supporting courses with the proper spacing, but the trim course was installed with no spacing vertically or horizontally. A call to the Super got a response that courses with matching patterns get butted together on all sides and sealed with some surface treatment (the seams are too small to be grouted.) Looking at the trim tiles, they are exactly the same width as the base course tiles, and therefore should be installed with the same spacing for visual esthetics. Also, maintaining the same spacing would allow for proper grouting, right?
My lengthy question is, should the trim course be set with the same spacing as the general tiles?
Thanks -Thumbs
