I need to install a set of fitures in a shower stall in a summer house in the NC mountains. I intend to drain the pipes when winterizing the pipes. When I open the box on Delta’s shower fixtures Delta seems to use a universal valve that has a threaded stem that would go down to a bath tap. I assume this tap would be capped in a shower, asking for freezing the valve. Can anyone recommend a shower valve that would fully drain when winterizing?

if you want a shower only and you have axcess to the back of the shower unit put a ball valve there. I blow out my house in ohio twice a year when i go back home mostly 3/4 copper no problems yet.
Good idea.
That ball valve could be anywhere and piped to the shower valve.
Long term access to the back of the shower valve is not necessarily required.
JimNever underestimate the value of a sharp pencil or good light.
couldn you just pull the cartrige out and that way you can use any valve
i think Temptrol has a drain plug in the bottom... or you can add an air valve to the supplies and blow the lines with a compressor
