Is this a common problem with self stick vinyl (5 yrs.old)? Any specific brands to avoid, or should I stay with sheet and wood and avoid the easy stuff?
History:
Had never used the self stick crap before, always used wood or sheets. (Did use asphalt asbestos tiles in 50’s, Still GOOD in parents house but not PC and also un-obtainium) Wife wanted new color kitchen floor, replaced sheet vinyl with not-cheap $4 sq ft self stick (got lazy) 12 inch vinyl tiles 5 years ago, don’t recall brand. There are now some that have 3/32″ gaps between tiles, almost all have at least 1/32″ gaps. Will need to replace soon, too hard to clean, don’t want to try to fill gaps.
