sidelight frame from wood substitute
Evenin’:
I need to build a client a couple of entrance door sidelight frames. No problem with wood but I want to consider using a wood substitute because the doorway is on the weather side of the house with no over the door protection. I don’t think products like Koma or Aztec are strong enough. Any suggestions?
Thanks Charlie

Several door companies are using jamb stock that has a trex "like" composite down in the bottom foot or so (Framesaver I think its called). Joined to wood above, can't see the transition. I think that would be a good choice-either find the Framesaver stock or consider trex-a fuzz more rigidity and paintable. Mike Smith has been making sill stock out of it with success.
