Sidewall flashing with roll roofing
What is the best practice for sidewall flashing with roll roofing? Do you use step flashing, as you would with a shingled roof, but just make each step the same length as the width of the roll roofing? Or do you run a continuous flashing underneath the roll roofing and have it daylight at the drip edge?

The length requiring flashing is about 6’ , and I’m planning to lay this over I&W (low slope, unconditioned space, open rafters below).

Continuous.
Since you are underlaying it with ice and water, use a 6" wide strip of it to seal the flashing at the edge of it all the way up, then do the roll roofing.
