I just got back from Bob Evans restraunt and noticed there exterior siding. I dont think It is Vinyl ,real wood, or fiber cement. I had sharp edges on the clapboars, and I dident see any nail heads. The corner boards almost looked Metal(painted) with a slot that would except the clapboards. The color was Brick red and it still looks good after many years. Anybody have any idea what kind of siding is used at Bob Evens? I thought it was sharp, MUCH better looking than Vinyl.
Thanks

Most of the BIG franchises copyright and contract with a sole supplier for their exterior trim packages that are current designs. A trip to a local site in progress might give you a box label to see, or even the site super to talk with.
Most of the franchises have an "upgrade" program to "revitalize the look" of the facilities that average seven years.

Thanks guys,
It very well might have been Steel or alunium. Next time i go ill look closer at it. I dont think it has ever been painted and the color looks good, even on the south side. Its a brick red color, so it could fade.
Does metal siding last as long as vinyl? or require painting??
thanks
If the restaurant was built yrs ago, the material they use today will proably be different.

The steel siding lasts longer. The alum. is a toss up. IMO
What did the seams look like? Another siding might have been the old Color Loc masonite sding that was factory finished. It was top nailed with a plastic spline that locked the bottom in.
