Sikkens finish for a garage door skinned with rough sawn cedar
I am getting a new garage door that will have cedar attached to the exterior surface. I had planned to get some Cabots oil-base stain from Lowes for it however the garage door guy rcommended Sikkens. It is quite a bit more expensive, but that is OK if it is significantly better. I live in a very harsh climate with a lot of snow, so it is important to have a very good, long-lasting finish.
Does anyone have any good or bad experience with Sikkens?
Can anyone recommend a particular Sikkens product? I was looking at the Cetol SRD or the Cetol Log & Siding.
Thanks

In general Sikkens is considered a good product. Though IIRC they sell a cheapie watered down version of their stuff at some discount stores, so you need to be sure what you're getting.
