Does anyone have any personal experience with Silestone for a counter top? It appears to be the best of both worlds from Granite to solid surface, they offer some beautiful colors that can easily compete with the beauty of granite. Any input would be greatly appreciated, so far I have only found the manufacturers information on the product. Is it really as good as they say?

This is a matter of taste, but I decided that Silestone is not as pretty as real granite. Silestone looks fine in small samples, but looks unnaturally uniform in countertop-sized pieces. Real stone has large patterns in it that distinguish it from synthetic materials like Silestone.
*Try this board: http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/kitchbath/ I think every type of counter has been discussed there- just use the search function.
