Does anybody have a suggestion for a simple software package for designing basements and simple additions. I do not need a difficult or detailed type of software, just something simple.
Thanks, StevieG

Not sure if this will apply to most folks, but I have found that the architectual layout and landscaping templates in Microsoft Viso work very nicely for simple planning and early stage drawings. Too pricey if you're buying it on your own, but I have it for free at my day job.

Germey,Thanks for responding. Believe it or not, I used microsoft visio, and your right. The problem I have is printing - I cannot get the drawing to print on the page. I know it must be something simple - but I have tried everything and cannot get it to work. It seems odd to me that Microsoft cannot fix this silly problem.StevieG
In the page setup, check the scale. By Default, Visio sets it to some standard scale that makes the average room layout a full size blueprint. It will then try to print to several pages or something. I always work within the confines of an 8X11 or 11X17 as I am not looking for so much detail. You end up having to change both the Scale as well as the page layout.
Hope this helps
