I’m installing a stainless steel sink in a tiled countertop. By the time the plywood, HardieBacker and tile is on, the counter will be almost 2″ thick. The clips that Kohler provided with the sink only accommodate a counter of about 1″ or so. Anybody ever dealt with this situation before? Any ideas?

Adhesive caulk and weight the sink..
Go to Kohler and get the extended clips...

For real? Extended clips really exist?
Yup... Getting them is the fickle finger of fate thing....
Fab something and be done with it... Maybe an hour or so total vs days or weeks... yur choice...
5/16x3" toilet flange bolts will fit the sink channel better than 1/4"...

Drill out the underside of the ply with a 1 1/4" spade bit at each clip location.
