I usually call the local full service lumberyard for simple beams and headers. If it get's complex I call an architect or an engineer.

There is no simple one size plug-in site.
To calc a beam, you need to first be able to calc the tributary load, and point loads. To do that, you need to know how the whole structure works.

As to your question, I don't know where you're from, but the NBC here in Canada includes tables for sizing beams. That's the source I use when I need to size a wood beam. (For steel, I call my engineer who has more extensive tables available to him.)

IRC has a table for girders and headers. It's in the floors chapter.
What type of beam(s) are you interested in sizing (solid sawn, lvl, psl, steel?). There are many different criteria that need to be looked at for each situation.
