Can anyone help with sizing an old fashioned ,low profile(4-5″) radiator for a basement remodel I’m doing?
There are 2 rooms ,approx. 12×15 each .
8″ ceiling joists ,filled with cellulose, heated space above
1 2×3 double glazed window in each rm,1 rm also has a door
slab floor with dimpled membrane and engineered flooring
27 lin’ of exterior wall in each rm ,exterior walls are terra cotta block insulated to r-15 on the inside.
I’ll be getting the radiators at a reuse warehouse. My intuitive thought is a unit about 26″ high and 3-4′ would be more than enough. Any thoughts?

Try http://www.heatinghelp.com, they might be able to help. There are some formulas the "old time steam people" used to use when installing radiators years ago.
