I’m looking for a rim lock (also known as a box lock) that uses a skeleton (bit) key. I’m not terribly concerned about security, but it would be a huge bonus if the key and lock used some sort of tumbler type system instead of the key just having a square slug to turn the lock. If anybody knows of a source for something like this, I would sure appreciate it!

The recipe for linoleum hasn't changed much in nearly 170 years, yet it's still one of the greenest floors money can buy.

You might send a query to http://www.hipponet.com/mainmenu.html regarding what you are looking for. Hippo Hardware has a couple of warehouses full of old house hardware stuff and have been helpful in searching through the stuff when I have gone there in person. I assume they would be helpful on-line as well (they employ a number of the homeless in Portland, so they usually have lots of help on hand.) Hippo has an on-line catalog, but they don't have much in it yet and they don't list their extensive used collection.
There are some architectural salvage companies listed at: http://www.contractorlocate.com/texis/vx/bfsearch/?p_arg=Architectural+Salvage&p_type=1
I know the Berkeley one has a number of large architectural pieces but I don't know about locks.
Another Berkeley place that recycles such items is Urban Ore, their telephone number is listed, along with a number of recyclers:
