This is a commercial situation where a deli has a slippery ceramic floor tile. Is there an easy way to make the tiles more rough? How about etching the tile with masonary acid? Sanding? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you.

I don't know if muriatic acid will work or not. Others might answer that question. However, if you use it indoors, all the unprotected metal inside will rust. Even stainless steel will get a slight haze of rust if the fumes are there very long. The circuit boards inside your electronic equipment (cash registers, smoke detectors, thermostats, etc.) will corrode, too. It would be tough to pull off without making a mess.
If no one else has a solution, how about rubber food service mats? Or sandblasting?
