I have a client that has a 12’x18′ screened in porch. Everyone else has told her that it cant be rescreened(not sure why). These screens are about 6’x7′. I remember seeing an ad for a snap together screen system. Its made for this application but i cant remember the name.
can anyone help?

See the current issue of Fine Homebuilding - multi page article on Building the Perfect Screened In Porch. Has info and web site for at least one custom and pre-built snap together screens.

At my local big box store, they have framing material to make your own screen. Basically, they just snap together. It's the stuff that accepts the rubber spline so the screen can always be replaced if needed.
I'm not sure if it comes in 7' lengths, but if it were me, I would want to split that into 2 sections anyway.

The screens are sized to fit the arched openings between posts. The old screens held for thirty years so I dont think size is the issue.
I cant figure out why no one else wanted to touch it.
Sorry, had to interrupt my posting to go to a pharmacy on a rush basis for the DW. I still recommend reading the article in FH, but here are the links from the article:
Try http://www.connscreen.com (for Connecticut Screen Works, Inc.) for screen panels. It has made panels as large as 9' x 18' but recommends limits of 48" x 80".
Also http://www.screentight.com and http://www.screeneze.com. are identified in the FH article as additional suppliers of screening materials.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. Screentight was what I was looking for. Do I win "The Big Doofus Of The Day" award for asking a question about the cover story of the magazine?
I've only had the issue for about three weeks (doh!). I'll check the article out tonight.
Glad to help - I need it as much as anyone else. Maybe more.
