So, I’ve been burning through that Fir
Making moldings, etc., I’ve actually started delivering some product other than just lineal footage of mouldings. Some head trim pieces, some replacement stair parts, but mostly moldings.Right now, we’re in the middle of pre-hanging doors.
Man, that rough Fir is a b!tch! My hands started to look like a porky before we got through it.

Nice stuff..........I'll give you my address!
Personally, I think the solid crown is a bit tall in proportion to the head stock.
I'm looking at the long heads in the van, lottsa bifolds?
Did you make the doors too or hang them in your stock? I see what looks like inventory stickers on the doors.
Remind us what you are doing and where the rough lumber came from.
I've got a good pair of tweezers I'll lend you!
Nice work.
Eric
Actually, I'm re-producing what was there originaly, to the detail. The doors are by Simpson, pretty nice, but not perfect(what is?).
This load was for the windows and exterior doors already hung. Some Frenchy's and some larger windows. They are for a 1880's Victorian resto going on in the area. 4 floors(incl. basement), and will be a Bed&breakfast. My end is to supply pre-hungs(in custom jambs), the trim that goes with them, the window trim, and replacement stair&moulding parts. No real site work, but they're already practicaly begging us to come in and trim it. there's a shortage of experienced, reliable, quality carpenters around here. There's some fantastic talent, but always some kind of baggage, if you know what I mean.
ok, now I remember, you're in Ulster or there abouts.
I'm a little slow, thinkin about trimming this palce? I'm not that far away.
Phone should start ringing any minute now that i made that offer.
So you are fabricating and delivering only?
Where is your shop? I'll be in New Paltz the week of July 11 or so. maybe a visit is forthcoming.
Eric
I see growth rings. See my photo post. What species is that?
Sphere care to take a shot?
Eric
It's flat-cut Doug Fir.
Yep, I'm in Ulster Co.(Chichester), but the job is in Delaware Co.
I doubt I will have time to do the job, unless the 2 kitchen(in one house)& 3 bathroom job I have on the board next falls through at the last moment.
What photo post?

Good for you having all that work lined up!
Good luck,
Eric
Sharpen your tooling and adjust your machines. Then you would not burn through it.
Don't want to waste good wood <G>.
But the stuff that you did not burn look real nice.
