So much to fix. Vinyl siding, trim Part #1

I’m not sure where to start. Either way it has to get fixed eventually.

    As someone who knows nothing about siding - I see gaps and stuff - can you explain to me a little more on what is wrong here? Is it just sloppy, is it just the j-channel is not tight and the mounting block is not attached properly? What is the proper way to attach shutters to a stone veneer?
