Is it possible to use an attic installed roof penetrating power ventilator fan in combination with a Soffit/Ridge vent system in a unfinished attic? (no gable vents)
Was concerned about the negative pressure in the attic the fan would create, possibly pulling in outside moisture through the ridge vent. Just trying to modify an existing ventilation system that gets the summer time hot air out of the attic a lot faster than just normal air flow.
One idea I had was to nail up plywood to the underside of the collar ties creating a sealed plenum under the ridge. Then install multiple smaller fans to the underside of that, blowing upward and forcing more air out through the ridge vent. This would be alot of work & expense, but this is the only safe solution I’ve been able to come up with.
FYI: roof design is a basic “A” 60′ long, 10:12 pitch, ridge is 25’~30′ above ceiling framing below. (A big attic!)
Your thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Mac,
I am going to ask my standard question:
What problem are you trying to solve?
What you propose seems very elaborate and I am wondering what would be wrong to undertake the project.
Is the house too hot in the summer?
Where are you located?
