Can anyone help me with some software that will allow me to keep track of the jobs we do? I presently write down everything in a notebook but when we get 4 jobs going it gets hard to go back through the book to find information.

James you didn't make any mention of what kind of information you are keeping
track of in the notebook system you now keep. I can imagine your keeping contact
lists but beyond that it could be just about anything. I know from writing
some custom database applications for a few different contractors that different
a business keep different sets of information. A little more specifics on
you part and I am sure everybody will have more ideas and suggestions for
you.
However I know a lot of contractors who
use ACT! – Contact
Management software ($189.00, I think) and an add-on enhancement designed
specifically
for called
BetterACT!published by 9dots, Inc. ($189.00 ). That's about the extent of what I know about
that since I don't use it (it's for Windows only and I'm on a Mac).
For the Mac there is a new Contact Management CRM application out called Daylite from
a company called MarketCircle that I've been looking at the demo version of
and I'm pretty impressed with and would probably recommend ($149.00 ). I don't
use it
yet only
because
I've
developed
my
own Contact Management CRM solution using FileMaker Pro that works well for
all the different kinds of things we do and is not just limited to Contact
Management. I am however considering integrating the two together but that's
a whole other
story.
Anyway if you could tell us all more about what you do and what you specifically
need to keep track of I am sure there are a lot of answers here on BreakTime
for you.
