We are planning to use low e glass for a southern Californian home with large windows. Wondering how much more radiation will be stopped if we also use low e, solar grey glass instead of clear? Will the grey reduce the amount of light in the room?

Gray tint will reduce the amount of light. For southern Cal. I would think this would be an advantage.Always seemed to me the best setup would be to use tinted on west and maybe south.Straight low e everywhere else.Depends on site orientation and the amount of glass.Be careful "mixing" if your windows have divided lights. The tint color will obscure your grilles somewhat on one side.
