Hello – I’m going to be soldering (for a cupola roof) one layer of sheet copper on top of another layer of roll copper (lapping joints.) As much as possible, I need to minimize the chance of discoloration to the copper when all is said and done, but also need a lasting joint.
Will using a propane torch likely leave lasting, highly noticable dark spots on the copper (even if I keep the flame moving,) will standard flux fit the bill, and should the lead free solder I use on copper pipes work for this job as well?
Thanks in advance for any info you can offer.
